Esophagus & Stomach Surgery
Nissen, Toupet, and Dor fundoplications are surgical procedures that treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and hiatal hernias. They involve wrapping the fundus of the stomach around the esophagus. The main difference between the three procedures is the degree to which the stomach is wrapped around the esophagus.
These procedures can be performed laparoscopically or robotically surgery. Laparoscopic surgery is the most common method because it reduces post-operative complications and hospital stays.

Esophageal achalasia is an uncommon motility disorder of the esophagus characterized by failure of relaxation of the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) and absence of progressive peristalsis in the distal esophagus. A variety of treatment options are available to relieve outflow obstruction and improve symptoms with Heller Myotomy. It involves cutting the muscle fibers of the lower esophageal sphincter.
